CSAW Virtual & In-Person

CSAW is a global, hybrid (in-person and online), event for students, teachers, professionals and anyone else who is interested in cybersecurity. The event is hosted in-person in several regions and online in others. 

All conference and competition attendees are required to abide by the following Code of Conduct. This Code extends to organizers, finalists, volunteers, judges, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees.

• CSAW organizers are dedicated to providing a safe, welcome, and harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or national origin. Respectful behavior is expected.
• We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Derogatory remarks, intimidation, trolling, and sustained disruptions are prohibited. Sexualized language and imagery is not appropriate for any aspect of the CSAW conference.
• CSAW is hosted in multiple countries and regions. Participants attending an in-person CSAW event are responsible for being mindful of and complying with the local laws, regulations, and venue rules that apply in the host location. 
• Taking screenshots, photos, or recording any portion of the conference is prohibited. If a presentation is being recorded, attendees will be notified and then given the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out of the session.

CSAW is a cybersecurity-focused conference and competition. Participants may not use CSAW sessions, competition spaces, conference platforms, or official event activities for political statements, demonstrations, advocacy actions, slogans, symbols, or other forms of political expression unrelated to the cybersecurity purpose of the event.

This does not restrict respectful discussion of cybersecurity policy, law, ethics, international security, digital rights, or public-interest issues when they are directly relevant to the conference program. The purpose of this expectation is to maintain a productive, inclusive, and technically focused environment, reduce avoidable conflict, and allow participants from different backgrounds and viewpoints to engage in good faith.

Conference participants violating this Code may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference at the discretion of the conference organizers.
